How to know whether God exists or not: 5 questions

There are many who deny there is a God, others say that it doesn’t make any difference, and others still who don’t want there to be a God who might interfere in their lives. But the hard evidence for God is everywhere we look.

Scientists tell us that the cosmos began with a Big Bang. OK– but where did the atoms and matter come from? How do they combine with each other to produce beauty? Where does gravity come from and the other “laws” of physics?  Have you ever seen an explosion that resulted in something beautiful? How could it provide perfect conditions for life on earth? Explosions normally result in chaos and destruction. Such a theory does not answer the basic questions of life.

Scientists speculate and theorize about the beginnings of life using evidence that they know about. We are told that somehow energy and compounds started life. Then over billions of years we have evolved to our present state along with all of the animals. That seems improbable given the complex nature of cells. The information contained in DNA could not generate itself. Everything about the earth and our bodies and the animals and even microorganisms points to a Creator.

If you found a Porsche 911 in the desert with the engine running, would you assume that somehow the elements had randomly assembled or would you assume someone designed it, someone built it, someone owns it, someone maintains it?

This cosmos with all its enormous complexity and our bodies with similar characteristics had to have an Intelligent Designer. In addition to the incredible creation with its beauty we have been given the capacity for love, music, laughter, marriage, family. It actually takes more faith to believe the Big Bang created our universe and world than it takes to believe that God created it all – seen and unseen. Choose your miracle.

King David points out that this knowledge of God is written across the sky, it is unavoidable, no matter where you live on Earth.

The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
    The skies display his craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak;
    night after night they make him known.
They speak without a sound or word;
    their voice is never heard.
Yet their message has gone throughout the earth,
    and their words to all the world.

Psalm 19:1-4 NLT

God of Covert Operations: How to See a Secret God

There is another aspect of the question of suffering and the existence of God. One might wonder why an all-powerful God does not make His existence more obvious. Where is God when you need Him? Is He really all-powerful? Is He really a God of love? Why doesn’t God intervene? …

Believe in God? So what? The Truth About Christians

Many people think it is enough to just believe in God. Somehow, they got this idea that God wants more people to believe in Him. That isn’t it. God isn’t insecure and He does not need to be popular. The Bible points out: “You say you have faith, for you …
