Have you reached that point in life when you ask, “What is the purpose of my life?” Some find the answer in career. “My purpose is to be a doctor.” But vocation is not a good justification for existence. After all, we are human beings, not human doings. Others find meaning in what they have. That is great for the economy because they are always bettering their life by buying more, to give meaning to their existence. Others seek meaning in their children, living through them. This becomes a burden for the children, to be somebody’s reason for living. Each of these motivations for life is a deception, a distraction from reality, in order to construct a life without God at the center.
Many people think that knowledge is power and invest heavily in education. Today the world knows more and is more educated than it has ever been. This along with mass transportation was predicted in the Bible and is a sign of the end times. (Daniel 12:4) The problem is that what used to lead us to wonder and remind us of how small we are now produces apathy. Like bugs in a house we are unimpressed with the perfect temperatures produced by the heating and cooling systems. We too live on a planet precisely tuned for human life, but knowing how it works does not lead us to marvel and wonder, or to look for who built it, how, and why.
Today we map solar systems and transplant hearts. Who has more reason to worship than an astronomer, an oceanographer, or a surgeon? The more we know the more we should be amazed. But the reverse is true! The more we know, the less we worship, the less we wonder. Rather than worship the creator, we worship the creation. “Isn’t nature amazing!” This was also predicted by the Bible 2000 years ago (Romans 1:25).

Science defines reality: A hugely popular dumb idea
“We don’t believe in God, we believe in science”, said the couple. Many people today consider it uneducated to believe in God. This misunderstanding comes from two basic problems: not realizing the limits of science, and relegating the rest of human experience to superstition. “According to the scientific naturalist version of …

How to know whether God exists or not: Questions needing answers
There are many who deny that there is a God, others say it makes no difference, and others still don’t want a God who could interfere in their lives. But overwhelming evidence for God is everywhere we look. Ask yourself some hard questions. Are you satisfied with answers from “science” …

Doubts: A GPS for the Big Questions of Life
Often the bigger questions in life leave room for doubt. That is healthy. Don’t ignore those doubts, address them, research them, then live 100% by what you decide. What you don’t want is to assume that what you’ve been told is true, without weighing the evidence. Or worse yet, to …
